The Australian education system has always been held in high regard by international students, until recently when a number of unjustified attacks on international students of Indian origin occurred.

Given the high number of Indian students that are catered for by our education system each year, and the income generated by hosting international students, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Honourable Julia Gillard has gone into damage control to try and minimise any backlash from the international community.

It is disappointing that there are residents within our country who would have us deny anyone access to our world class education system, especially when there are so many countries where education is not held in the same high regard as it is here.
