Queensland

Queensland in Australia

Located along the eastern coast of Australia, beside the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland is sometimes called the ‘Smart State’ or the ‘Sunshine State’.  Queensland offers beautiful beaches, first-class snorkeling and diving spots, lush rainforests and great waves for surf enthusiasts.  With so much to offer, Queensland is a favourite destination for both international visitors and Australians alike.

If you’re interested in a modern city and eager for a subtropical climate, then Brisbane is the place for you.  Australia’s third largest city and the capital city of Queensland, Brisbane, culturally diverse in nature, offers an array of entertainment, fantastic museums and the chance to explore a variety of international cuisines.  Although a modern, bustling city, Brisbane gives the feeling of relaxation.

Just an hour from Brisbane, lies the famous Gold Coast.  With stretches of gorgeous beaches, perfect waves for surfing, theme parks and great shopping, the Gold Coast attracts many visitors from all around.

North Queensland is a tropical paradise.  With gorgeous rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef, this paradise area is home to many natural wonders.  Tall, lush trees, stunning waterfalls, tropical fish, Draintree National Park and Cape Tribulation are just a taste of what is available to explore in this region.  Cairns, the primary city of the region (yet closer to Papua New Guinea than to most of Australia), is a friendly, relaxing and welcoming town.  If in the area, a visit to the Great Barrier Reef is a must.  With daily reef cruises, fishing tours, or diving and snorkeling trips, there is something for everyone.

Bordered by the Great Barrier Reef lie the tropical Whitsundays.  A collection of 74 islands, these islands enhance relaxation, peace and a return to nature.  Of the 74 islands, only 8 are inhabited. Golf, spas, pristine white-sand beaches, aqua-blue, calm seas and even an underwater observatory, the Whitsundays truly combine nature, luxury and relaxation; making the islands one of Queensland’s most desirable destinations.

If you’re more interested in exploring the vast, rugged outback, not to worry, Queensland has this to offer too.  Queensland’s Outback offers a quiet return to a nature of sand dunes and deserts, Aboriginal rock art, bird watching, horse riding, quiet fishing areas and picturesque National Parks with great camping sites.
If Queensland is your chosen destination, you will discover a world of adventure, excitement, wonder, surprise and discovery.
